About this Event

Star Trek was and still is much more than just a television series.  For over five decades it has had an impact on our culture, especially in areas of science.  It is also a series that makes us think.  Embedded within the stories we often find hints about events taking place in society at that time.

Mostly it's a testament to creator Gene Roddenberry's vision of the future.......a place where inequality, war, poverty and most diseases have been eliminated. Where EVERYONE, regardless of their race, skin color, beliefs, sexual orientation, gender identity or planet of origin are all treated with dignity and respected for their contributions and achievements. Where diversity enriches life's experiences and is embraced by all.  A place where everyone works together to foster peace, enlightenment and exploration of the cosmos.

Though Star Trek is set in what seems like a distant and far off future, we, the citizens of Earth in the 21st century have the ability to set the events in motion that would eventually lead to the realization of that future.  We can start right here and right now.  That's what Star Trek Day event is about.

What have we learned from Star Trek. Why does it inspire us?  Is there more that we can learn?

So why not take a break for a day from all the craziness in the world and come celebrate all that is good and positive in the Universe!   Saturday, September 9, 2017 from 12 - 7:00 PM.

Live Long and Prosper!
